Safe Speed Rules Dusty Ryders Jetski Hire

5‑Knot Rule — Okawa Bay, 9 km per hour is the speed until outside of Okawa Bay inlet, 200 m from shore, 50 meters from other jet ski boats, and structures, lake users, our Sea-Doo are fitted with GPS that can remotely shut off the engine. We will shut your engine down and tow you back for the dangerous operation of our machines. Please have consideration for our company rules and guidelines for safe jetskiing on Lake Rotoiti

• Maximum speed: 5 knots (9kph) — idle speed walking pace inside Okawa Bay.

• Applies all the way across Okawa Bay until you reach the open speed zone, which usually takes 2 minutes to get there

• Must be observed within 200 m of shore

• Within 50 m of other Jetskis travelling in groups, rides, boats, swimmers, or structures

• Marker buoys clearly indicate restricted and open speed areas.

• Breaches may result in $200 fines or enforcement action by local patrols, engine shut-offs

On arriving and leaving the Hot Pools yellow markers 5 knots idle speed rule, no exceptions. Please slow down when at Rotoiti Hot Pools, no excuses.

Terms and conditions.

Age requirements must be 10 years to participate, 16 years to operate, and 18 years to hire and show ID. If requested, all operators must sign waivers. Trips to Rotoiti hot pools require you to have your phone with you as a rule, we will provide you with a waterproof phone case and life jackets. Jetskis have a maximum weight capacity of 203kg for Sea-Doo Sparks models and 280kg for Sea-Doo GTS GTI models. We ask your combined weight. This helps us assess your needs

Cancelations and Refunds.

Cancelations must be made 12 hours before the start time to receive a full refund. The small booking fee is non-refundable as a deterrent for no shows and is deducted from the outstanding balance that can be paid on the day of your tour or as otherwise stipulated. Cancellations due to bad weather can be made no more than 24 hours before the start time in most cases. Cut-off points will be when wind speeds are above 11-17 knots, 17 mph, 20 kph across the Lakes Rotorua and or Rotoiti continuously. Bookings can be postponed, rescheduled, or refunded.

We reserve the right to refuse your entry or end your time if you're under the influence. Waivers and agreemants need to be signed by all adults wishing to operate our machines.
